Kochi (Kerala) [India], 14 December (ANI): BJP leader Shivshankaran on Saturday alleged that the CPM and Congress were creating anti-national sentiments in Kerala on the issue of Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).
“Just because of political differences, the CPM and Congress are creating anti-national sentiments in Kerala. The CAA has nothing against Indian Muslims or people living in Kerala. With the help of the state government, the state CPM is spreading misinformation. Is that this bill is against the Indian. ” Muslims, “
“Congress has joined hands with the ruling party to spread this misinformation. They are creating a situation of terror. The state government cannot stop the law passed by the Parliament,” he said.
The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, grants citizenship to non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, who arrived in India before December 31, 2014.
The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was passed by Parliament earlier this week and became an act with President Ram Nath Kovind giving its assent on 12 November (ANI)
